Terms of use

The rules on which you use Lumen. Short, and no small print.

In effect from 1 November 2026

Sections

The parties

The seller is Lumen Browser. These terms are an agreement between you and the seller.

Licence

While you have a trial or a paid period, you may install and use Lumen on your devices - within your plan’s number of profiles and devices.

Lumen runs on Macs with Apple Silicon and macOS 26 or later. Intel Macs are not supported.

Account

  • Your account is your email and password. A code from an email confirms a registration and a password reset.
  • Your profiles’ master password isn’t tied to the account, and we don’t know it. A forgotten master password can’t be recovered.

Buying without signing up

  • You can buy Lumen without signing up: you pay in crypto and tell us neither your email nor your name. At once you get an invoice number and a purchase code, and after the payment a key: you enter it in the app, open your license with it on the site and renew the period.
  • The invoice number and the purchase code prove the purchase. Keep them: we can’t send them to you - we don’t have your email address, and we don’t keep the codes themselves.
  • You can get the key again on the key page with the invoice number and the purchase code - for 30 days after the payment. Later - through support, with the same invoice number and purchase code. A new key replaces the old one: the old one stops working, and every Mac has to be connected again.
  • You may link an email address later, if you wish, on the key page: it takes the key and the purchase code. Then you can sign in with the address and a password, recover access by email and get reminders before a period ends; the key keeps working.
  • If the key may have reached someone else, you can replace it: on the key page with the key and the purchase code, or, once an email is linked, in your account with your password. The old key stops working at once, every Mac of the license is disconnected, and you enter the new key on each.
  • A key gives exactly what an account on the same plan gives: as many profiles and devices. There is no free trial by key.
  • Personal and Professional are sold without signing up. Team needs an account: its seats are handed out by email.
  • Refunds follow the refund policy: the invoice number and the purchase code prove the purchase, and coins go back to the address they came from.

Team

The Team plan has 5 seats, including the owner. Each person signs in with their own email and password. The profile and device limits are shared by the team. The owner pays; members don’t see the team’s invoices.

Payment and period

  • You pay in crypto, for a month or a whole year; a year costs ten months. Prices are in US dollars, on the pricing page.
  • A payment is one-off: there are no automatic charges and nothing to cancel. A paid period simply ends; a new payment renews it. Pay early and the new period starts when the current one ends.
  • With an account we remind you by email 7 days and 1 day before a period ends; without signing up, until an email is linked, the app reminds you. You can renew at any time: in your account or, if you bought without signing up, on the key page.
  • The trial is 7 days free, up to 3 profiles.
  • When a period ends, the app opens your profiles for data export only until you renew. Your data is never deleted.
  • We tell you about a price change in advance; the new price applies to periods paid after the change.
  • Refunds follow the refund policy.

Acceptable use

Lumen is built for privacy and for working with several accounts. You may not use it:

  • for fraud, for passing yourself off as someone else, or for anything that breaks the law;
  • to spread malware, send spam or attack other people’s systems.

You follow the rules of the sites and services you use. If the seller learns of prohibited use, they may close access to the account.

Your data

Profiles and everything in them are yours, kept encrypted on your Macs. We never delete them - not when a period ends, not when you stop paying. If you turned on sync, its encrypted copy on the server is deleted with the account - or earlier, when you ask in your account; Macs with sync still on then upload their data again. The data on your Macs stays. How we handle account data is in the privacy policy.

Liability

We check Lumen on every build and publish what we measure and how. But the software is provided “as is”: the seller doesn’t promise it suits every task and isn’t responsible for how sites treat your accounts. The seller’s liability is limited to what you paid over the last 12 months, as far as the governing law allows.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time, in your account. It is blocked at once: devices leave the account, team seats close. After 7 days the email, password, devices and the encrypted sync data on the server are deleted; until then the deletion can be cancelled by signing in. The profiles on your Macs are not touched: they are kept only by you, and Lumen does not delete them.
